The first time I entered the FTP credentials and all the steps of the update were completed successfully, yet the nag screen never vanished. The normal WP update notice was not gone as well. It failed to do the update for some reason.</p> <p>After inspecting the FTP server contents after each step, I realized after getting the latest.zip, WPAU failed to extract it into wpau-backup/wordpress directory even though it has write permissions, this directory was completely empty without even subdirectories.
