Hi,

I've been trying to upgrade my Wordpress from Version 2.6.3 to Version 2.6.5 but to no avail. It worked very well for my previous upgrades.

I've reached to the step of Backing up the database, and then the plugin just gave me a blank page.

This is the error message:

[client 202.156.8.11] PHP Fatal error: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: wpaubackup in /home/www/web72/web/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_db_backup.class.php on line 912

Please advise
Thanks <img src="http://forum.techie-buzz.com/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_smile.gif" title=":)" class="bb_smilies" />

I'm attempting to upgrade a Wordpress 1.5.2 installation, and some errors have cropped up. The WP installation is in /home/siteroot/public_html/geekman/. On the initial plugin page, the following error appears:

I have not tried to start the upgrade itself. Please advise on a workaround for these errors.

Hi,

First, thanks for writing this plugin.

I am trying to run it and am failing during the maint. mode phase:

Warning: copy(/home/yurchuk/public_html/philip/index.php.wpau.bak) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/yurchuk/public_html/philip/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_upgrade.class.php on line 359

This is because WPAU thinks it does NOT need to use FTP, but it does. Not your fault, just the way my hosting company works (not even the 777 trick will work). WP's automatic upgrade for plugins works great because it uses FTP every time.

I'm hoping there's an easy way to force WPAU to use FTP, like maybe modifying a function to return false? I'd like to hear from the creator before I go destroying my site with ignorant mods.

Thanks again!

I have auto upgraded many times, but this is the first time since upgrading WPAU to 1.2.1. Now I can't get the download of the latest WP to happen, I just receive an error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 500001 bytes) in /home/wsffa/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/lib/snoopy.class.php on line 900

Looks like a PHP memory error, but I don't know enough to fix it. Any thoughts?

UPDATE: I rolled back to WPAU 1.2.0.2 but got the same error message.

Everything was going well until I got to the "Puts the site into maintenance mode" part, which it said it did successfully, but when I click on the "click here to go to next task", I get this error:

Now what should I do? My site is down and when you go to it you see this:

Warning: main(/home2/shellimi/public_html/wp-load.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/shellimi/public_html/wp-blog-header.php on line 12

Seems like my database got a flat tire when upgrading all my plugins after getting 2.6 up and running. Everything was smooth as silk, and I was trying to upgrade a plugin "forget which one it was", but now I'm out of luck. I am trying to get the DB put back in phpmyadmin, but I was wanting a good beginners walkthrough on EXACTLY how to do it. Simplified, step by step, recovery system for getting my site reverted so I can try it again. Any help at all would be helpful. I have all of the backups secured and ready to go, and now I just need the knowledge of the Gods to get me on my way. Thanks!!

I just updated all my plugins, including WPAU. Then I started the process for upgrading to WP 2.6. It deactivated my plugins, put the site into maintenance mode, and downloaded the new version just fine. When I clicked the Next link to actually upgrade the files I get this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class snoopy in .../wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 48

I was able to get my site out of maintenance mode, but now my home page only displays this error message. What do I do from here?
