Can someone post what permission are needed on what files for WPAU to work? I get the error "Server does not allow us to write to your wordpress directory", and don't want to go the alternate route by installing ftp. Thanks.

Hi, I have eight or nine WP blogs running many different versions of WP. All have this plugin installed, and it works on none of them. It always fails at the same point, the attempt to put the site in maintenance mode, whether in manual or automatic mode and whether using v0.6 or v0.8.

This is the latest error message:
Warning: copy(/usr/local/4admin/apache/vhosts/andthenhesaid.com/httpdocs/journal/index.php) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /usr/local/4admin/apache/vhosts/andthenhesaid.com/httpdocs/journal/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wpau_upgrade.class.php on line 323

My web hosts are convinced it's not a problem at their end - I often have to talk to them about getting scripts whitelisted, but on this occasion they are sure it's not a problem at their end. It still fails with "SecFilterEngine Off" added to the htaccess file.

Any advice gratefully received.
