How To Use the inbuilt Sim Card Reader in a Laptop

    Hello To All who read this post,
    i have recently bought a dell studio 1555 the specificaations are:-
    2GB Ram
    320GB HDD
    1.2 GB ATI Raedon Graphics Adapter
    Vista Home Premium

    Now when i remove the battery, there is a windows authencity stiker the battery connecting slot and a SIM CARD SLOT.

    i want to use this sim card slot as a sim card reader and an internet connector.
    When i put a SIM card into this slot and turn on my laptop nothing happens. it dosen't even detect that a Sim Card is inserted into the slot.

    Can anybody HELP ME OUT PLEASE!!!!!!

    Hi Makrand,

    Have you checked whether the drivers for the slot are installed?

    Open device manager and see if the card reader is detected or not, also usually the card reader slot is not for slim card, but for reading memory cards from camera and other compatible devices.
